COATL ´S new song is the first single off their upcoming fourth album “Shakti” which is expected to be released in the summer of 2023.
For the video, Coatl created a storyline that talks about a podcast that exposes a tyrannical corporation and its plans to privatize natural resources and control the masses through the use of pop culture, pharmaceuticals, and their elite standing with the WEF (World Economic Forum).
When the CEO of the corporation finds out that he is being exposed, he kidnaps the reporter and silences him via brute force.
Isra Vega and Alma Perez, the authors of the song, use their lyrics to talk about the corporate abuse of power, corruption, manipulation, displacement of indigenous populations and forced religious conversions for the sake of profit and political gain.
The lyrics also talk about their own realization that as consumers we sometimes choose convenience over ethics, as well as our preference for distractions over researching and understanding what is happening in politics, economics and the environment.
