In the year 19XX the earth was engulfed in war.
Nation pitted against nation, human against human. Every living thing on the planet was locked in a chaotic battle to acquire each other’s wealth and power. In the meantime, in the farthest away land of “Ladyland” there lived a genius biologist named Dr. Jimi (hobby: guitar) who was about to conclude a mad science experiment for a pack of superior creatures that would be called MAN WITH A MISSION (MWAM).
Are they human? Are they wolves? Their looks may be deceiving and even comical at first glance, but they have incredible brain power and a superhuman physique. Such superb abilities enabled them to carry out the planet’s most challenging top secret missions, and made them untouchable by the world’s fearsome and powerful leaders including Genghis Khan, Attila the Hun, and Ivan the Terrible.
The principality of Zeon had them work in the dark shadows of history in various locations around the world. Dr. Jimi was plagued by guilt and regret that his creations had contributed to some of the most evil deeds in history and decided to put an end to it. He wanted to ensure that they wouldn’t fall under the spell of evil again and so he froze them into eternal sleep in a far edge of the world.
Time passed by and it was now the year of 2010. The planet had gone through worldwide economic crisis, numerous political and social tensions across borders, and was slowly being destroyed by pollution induced global warming. The warming and deterioration of the planet then melted the icy caskets that Dr. Jimi had jeopardized his life for. MWAM awoke from eternal sleep!
Are they working for justice for this world, or are they nothing else but evil?
MAN WITH A MISSION (MWAM) is coming to Mexico!
1 .What are your expectations of your second visit to Mexico and how did you prepare for this exciting event?
The first time we went was absolutely amazing. Everyone in the audience was crazy , the energy was massive. As we had the honor to participate in one of the most well known animations in the world , and also having the wonderful support from CRUNCHYROLL, I’m looking forward more this time. We’re more than ready Mexico.
2. How would you describe the connection between your music and the Mexican audience? Is there anything in particular that you’re excited to experience during your concert in Mexico?
The audience in Mexico truly know a lot about Japanese artists, and we always appreciate the reaction and support from the people. As I said, the first time was rad for us and I hope the enthusiasm is still on or even maybe more. And A LOT of tequila.
3 What does it mean to you to be able to bring your music and message to such a diverse and passionate country like Mexico?
Travelling all over the world and performing in front of people is a dream come true for me. It means a lot to us to visit this beautiful country. And as you said, you people are so full with passion
4. As an international band, how do you believe your music can transcend cultural barriers and connect with audiences from different parts of the world, including Mexico?
Obviously we are not a normal band, especially how we appear. It may seem odd but I guess somehow that makes it easier for the listeners to focus more only on the music cause there’s already an impact and an iconic figure that gets rid of preconceptions. Maybe let an alien sing about world peace for this planet and it might sound much more persuasive. A total different look and a concept might be the key to make the message more simply straight and direct.
5.- Do you have any special message for your Mexican fans who have been eagerly awaiting your arrival and are excited to see you live?
Sorry to keep on making you guys wait but we’ll assure you it’s gonna be crazy.
6.- How does the energy and passion of Mexican fans compare to that of other audiences throughout your career?
You people are one of the most enthusiastic and loudest audiences we’ve experienced.
Please keep it that way amigos.
7. Is there anything in particular you would like to explore or experience during your time in Mexico offstage?
Unfortunately we might not have enough time for sightseeing and stuff like that but we’ll definitely enjoy the food and tequila.
8.- Regarding the “KIZUNA NO KISEKI” tour, how does this concept fit with your vision as a band and what do you hope to achieve with this tour?
The title of the tour and the same song is the main theme of one of the most beloved and huge masterpiece animation from Japan and throughout the world. It also has the meaning “ The miracle of bonds”. Hope the audience feels that special bond with our band too.
9. Is there a particular song in your repertoire that you feel resonates especially with the Mexican audience, and why?
Not to mention the tour title song “Kizuna no Kiseki”, “Hey Now”,”FLY AGAIN”,maybe “INTO THE DEEP” but believe me, you people react so much and so good to each and every song we play and we love it.
10. Finally, what memories do you hope to take away from your visit to Mexico, and what do you hope your Mexican fans will take away after seeing you in concert?
It’s been a while since our last visit and frankly speaking I’m sorry it always takes us a bit of a time to meet you guys. But we are more than happy, more than grateful for having such a wonderful audience in a country far from home that always inspires us, encourages us in making music and being what we are. We are THE MAN WITH A MISSION but with no doubt you people are the ones who make this band, MAN WITH A MISSION and gives life and the meaning to our music. Thank you so much Muchas Gracias to you all. See you all soon amigos!
